This is Vovlo's FWD performance car. The T5R was their first foray into the world of modern performance sedans and wagons. The T5R took the base 850 and made it competitive with the best of Germany's trio from BMW, AMG, and Audi.
In a clever marketing move, Volvo aligned the production of the T5R to hit dealer showrooms just as their first season in the British Touring Car Championship came to an end. Viewers could ride the coattails of the BTCC 850 right into their local Volvo dealer and spec their T5Rs accordingly.
607, one very special paint code which immortalized the T5R and set it apart from it's contemporaries. Gul, T-gul and even faded yellow have become synonymous with this color, originally named "Cream Yellow". This is what FWD Volvo enthusiasts picture when they think T5R.
Each T5R shares a special place in Volvo's heritage and in your life. We want to hear about it. Please feel free to tell us your story, how you got your T5R, what you've done to it, and what it looks like. You're welcome to include any images of your car.
